For so long, I've been following Darren Aronofsky movies as an authentic grupie. From Pi to Black Swan, through my favorite Requiem for a Dream, the Wrestler's depth and the not so critically accepted The fountain.
Nowadays, Aronofsky is directing his sixth feature film Noah. The film is based on a graphic novel, describing the well-known biblical story.
And guess who was recently added to cast? Yes, there are some big names such as Rusell Crowe, Jeniffer Conelly and Emma Watson but I just discovered, thanks to a press release, there is a supporting actor who is a constant on Mr. Darren movies: Mark Margolis.
Acording to a Plataform Group press release, recent Emmy Nominee joins cast of epic biblical drama:
New York, NY August 09--Actor Mark Margolis has been tapped to join the cast of Darren Aronofsky’s NOAH. Margolis is set to play the character Samyaza in the film, which stars Russell Crowe, Emma Watson, Jennifer Connelly and Sir Anthony Hopkins. Margolis set straight off for Iceland, where NOAH is shooting, immediately after getting the news.
Will Noah be as sucessful as The Black Swan or will it crash on the box office like the fountain? Well, I don't know. What I certainly know now, is while Aronofsky has had several muses -such as Natalie Portman, Jennifer Conelly or his former wife, Rachel Weisz; he has kind of a lucky charm in all his movies: Mr. Mark Margolis.
