Colosio, a Mexican Movie

In 1994, a presidential candidate in Mexico, was murdered in the middle of a public political meeting. The investigation behind it, was doubtful and didn't meet the people expectations. A lot of mexican citizens believed the current goverment had a lot to do in the out-of-place assassination. This is a historic fact where corruption, power and influences had everything to do.

Almost 20 years later, a brave director, Carlos Bolado, bring this amazing true-story to the big screen. It may not have the huge hollywood production of films such as JFK but it certainly has good acting and an essential movie to understand mexican politics nowadays.

The leading roles fall in 4 great actors of hispanic origin: José María Yazpik (The burning plain), the spanish Daniel Giménez Cacho (Bad Education),  Kate del Castillo (La reina del sur, Under the same moon) and Odiseo Bichir (Hidalgo), -the latest is Demián Bichir's brother, recently Oscar nominated for A better life-.

I hope this movie gets to USA and all around the globe, but if not, I wish you have the opportunity to watch it maybe via internet.

No doubt this is the kind of movie which will leave you a gap in your stomach for several days.
